Position Overview
Azizi Developments is expanding into the energy sector and is seeking a Lead Civil Design Engineer to join our newly established Energy Division in Dubai, UAE. This role will focus on civil design and execution for power generation projects spanning thermal, solar PV, wind, gas, hydro, and hybrid technologies. The Lead Civil Design Engineer will oversee design, technical reviews, and site implementation, ensuring compliance with international standards, quality benchmarks, and project timelines.

Core Duties

• Lead civil engineering design activities for diverse power generation projects, including plant layouts, structural interfaces, and material selection
• Review, approve, and provide feedback on civil drawings, BOMs, and technical submissions from EPC contractors, OEMs, and consultants
• Supervise civil works execution, ensuring design accuracy, safety, and quality compliance across all phases of construction
• Conduct technical bid evaluations for contractor proposals and manage civil engineering risks during project execution
• Lead site inspections, tests, and surveys, ensuring timely reporting and corrective action where needed
• Develop and enforce internal standards and specifications for civil works within the Energy Division
• Mentor and guide civil engineering teams, providing technical leadership across multiple projects
• Represent the owner in technical meetings with contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies
• Participate in HAZOP sessions, design reviews, and risk assessments throughout project lifecycles

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
• Minimum 10 years of civil engineering experience, including at least 5 years in power generation projects (thermal, solar, biomass, gas, or hybrid)
• Strong knowledge of international and local standards (ISO, DIN, etc.)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit, MS Project, and Primavera
• Demonstrated success supporting EPC execution or owner's engineering roles
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

Preferred

• Experience in combined-cycle, cogeneration, or hybrid renewable plants
• Professional Engineering License (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification
• Experience in energy projects across developing markets or remote environments
