Job Description

A Laundry Pressman operates and maintains laundry pressing machinery, such as pressers and steamers, to expertly finish and present hotel linens, uniforms, and guest garments to set standards of quality and cleanliness. Key duties include inspecting textiles for defects, knowing proper pressing instructions for different fabrics, managing pressing supplies, maintaining a clean and safe work area, and coordinating with other laundry staff to ensure smooth workflow and meet guest service deadlines. Key Responsibilities

Equipment Operation

: Operate and maintain professional laundry pressing equipment, including ironers, presses, and steamers.

Textile Care

: Inspect linens, uniforms, and garments for stains and defects, and apply appropriate pressing techniques for different fabrics to achieve high-quality results.

Quality Control

: Ensure all pressed items meet established standards for quality and presentation, and properly handle and store finished items.

Workplace Maintenance

: Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, and ensure all pressing equipment is clean and in good working condition.

Inventory Management

: Monitor and manage the inventory of pressing supplies, such as pressing cloths.

Record Keeping

: Keep accurate records of items processed and maintain efficiency in all tasks.

Collaboration

: Coordinate with other laundry and housekeeping staff to ensure a smooth workflow and meet service deadlines.

Customer Service

: Address guest inquiries and concerns related to laundry and pressing services, and report guest comments to the supervisor.
Required Skills & Knowledge
