Loading and unloading laundry into and out of various machines.
Stain Treatment and Repairs:
Checking for and removing stains from garments and making minor repairs like replacing buttons.
Processing and Finishing:
Adding cleaning agents and starches, smoothing articles, ironing and pressing clean items, and placing them on shelves or hangers for delivery or collection.
Packaging and Dispatch:
Packaging articles and preparing orders for dispatch.
Equipment Maintenance:
Cleaning, oiling, and making minor adjustments and repairs to laundry equipment and machinery.
Work Area Maintenance:
Cleaning work areas and ensuring they are tidy and organized.
Quality Control:
Inspecting for damages, ensuring cleanliness standards are met, and following specific cleaning protocols.
Customer Service (if applicable):
In some roles, this may include handling customer inquiries and providing quality service.
Physical Demands:
Being able to handle physically demanding tasks such as moving loaded laundry bags, cages, and carts and lifting items.
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to follow directions and multitask.
Attention to detail and efficiency.
Physical stamina and ability to lift.
Basic understanding of cleaning agents and equipment.
For some roles, experience in cleaning or a specific industry (e.g., hotel laundry) may be preferred or required.
