Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Diploma/Associate Degree in Civil Engineering, Land Surveying or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in road works and infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge and experience in using survey software such as total station, level, theodolite.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Perform land/field surveys and geodetic calculations.

• Knowledge of relevant survey procedures, construction techniques, codes and standards.

• Interface with client and contractors to determine and verify project survey requirements.

• Fully conversant with current survey technology and survey equipment.

• Demonstrated experience and capability to co-ordinate with related infrastructure disciplines to ensure effective interface of all aspects of the works.

• Sufficient safety awareness to identify and assess potential hazards and unsafe working practices and initiative to take the necessary preventative actions in accordance with a particular situation.

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and written communication.

• Complete the surveying requirements on schedule and within man-hour and cost budgets.

• Check setting-out and levels. Check services locations and ensure their protection. * Prepare sketches to support the field work. Maintain all the survey information (field books, sketches and calculations).

• Assist concerned Engineer in verification and checking of shop drawings * Verification & routine checks of control points and bench marks * Verification of setting out of works

• Recording of initial and final levels of works * Verification of earthwork cross sections

• Take measurement of works inspected.

• Assist in the preparation of 'as-built' drawings. Review of 'as-built' record drawings. * Act positively and participate in all health and safety issues at site, as required by the Resident Engineer, and project Safety Representative.

• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
