We are currently looking for a skilled and experienced
Laboratory Technician
with a strong background in material testing for roads and infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in both
field and laboratory testing
of construction materials and should have a working knowledge of
AASHTO, ASTM, BS, and local standards
.
Key Responsibilities:
Material Testing:
Conduct laboratory and field tests on construction materials such as soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregates.
Perform compaction, moisture content, density, CBR, sieve analysis, and other standard tests for road base and subgrade materials.
Operate and maintain lab equipment (compression machines, ovens, asphalt testing equipment, sieves, etc.).
Compliance & Quality:
Ensure all materials meet project specifications and relevant testing standards (AASHTO, ASTM, BS, and local requirements).
Prepare detailed reports on test results, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to the project team.
Report any non-compliance or material performance issues.
Coordination & Documentation:
Work closely with site engineers and material engineers to support ongoing construction activities.
Maintain records of test results, calibration logs, equipment maintenance, and material certifications.
Assist in troubleshooting material quality issues and provide technical input when needed.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Diploma or Certification in Civil Engineering Technology or Laboratory Testing.
2-3 years of experience in infrastructure material testing, preferably with
RTA project exposure
.
Proven experience working in accredited laboratories or field-testing environments.
Strong knowledge of testing standards and procedures.
Good communication and report-writing skills.
