Job Overview
The CAD Technician - Transportation Infrastructure will be responsible for preparing engineering drawings, processing internal and external mapping requests, managing transportation infrastructure data, and supporting the Strategic Planning Department through high-quality drafting and technical reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate engineering drawings, sketches, and presentations as required
- Organize, process, and verify internal and external drawing and mapping requests
- Manage transportation infrastructure and Right of Way (ROW) data, ensuring updates and corrections are made accurately
- Perform data scanning, digitization, editing, and updating tasks
- Receive, check, and verify technical data from consultants, contractors, and developers
- Prepare electronic and hard copies of drawings for internal and external distribution
- Utilize GIS systems to extract relevant information and integrate into drawing tasks
- Use specialized CAD software such as MicroStation and AutoCAD to complete technical work
- Prepare detailed technical reports and submit them to the department manager
- Support coordination efforts with internal departments and external entities like Dubai Municipality
- Maintain a structured filing and documentation system for engineering drawings
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support infrastructure planning and development initiatives
Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Diploma in Engineering from a recognized university or technical institution
Experience:
- Experience with drafting, data management, and mapping in transportation infrastructure projects is preferred
Skills:
- Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD software
- Strong data manipulation and technical reporting abilities
- Excellent computer literacy across a wide range of applications
- Good communication skills in English and/or Arabic (reading, writing, speaking)
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
