Job Description

• Performing laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations.
• Carrying out routine tasks accurately and following strict methodologies to carry out analyses.
• Constructing, maintaining, and operating standard laboratory equipment, for example centrifuges, titrates, pipetting machines and pH meters.
• Ensuring the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
• Keeping up to date with technical developments, especially those which can save time and improve reliability
• Documents information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books.

• Resolves problems by examining and evaluating data, selecting corrective steps.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
• Planning, setting up and undertaking controlled experiments and trials
• Maintaining, calibrating, cleaning, and testing sterility of the equipment
• Preparing solutions, cultures, or specimens
• Recording and presenting data
• Disposing of chemicals and waste products safely and according to MOPH guidelines
• Performs routine laboratory procedures such as preparation of media and basic preparation of slides and smears.
• Sets up and operates laboratory equipment in preparation for specimen examinations.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies by cleaning and maintaining quality assurance records.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures.
• Perform PCR in accordance with the current pandemic situation: Following private facility guidelines set by MOPH
• Other duties assigned from time to time
