Job Description

Position Summary:

The Lab Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the laboratory to ensure optimal workflow, regulatory compliance, safety, and quality standards. This role manages laboratory staff, coordinates maintenance of equipment and supplies, enforces safety procedures, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate lab output.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise daily operations of the laboratory to ensure efficient workflows and timely delivery of results. Oversee laboratory staff scheduling, performance management, and professional development. Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies (e.g., CLIA, CAP, OSHA, ISO) and maintain necessary certifications and documentation. Monitor laboratory budgets, procurement, and inventory of equipment, reagents, and consumables. Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) measures. Coordinate calibration, maintenance, and repair of laboratory instruments and infrastructure. Serve as a liaison between laboratory teams and cross-functional departments (e.g., QA, R&D, Production). Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and scientific integrity. Prepare reports, metrics, and audits for internal review and regulatory submission. Uphold safety standards and respond to laboratory incidents or emergencies as needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology) or related field. Minimum of [1+] years of laboratory experience, with at least [2+] years in a supervisory or management role. Strong knowledge of laboratory best practices, regulatory guidelines, and safety protocols. Proven experience in managing teams, budgets, and operational workflows.
