Position Overview:



The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food safety, quality control, and smooth coordination between the kitchen and the counter/service team. The role involves managing kitchen staff, maintaining inventory, implementing hygiene standards, and ensuring timely preparation of menu items in line with The Juice Lab's brand standards and Dubai Municipality regulations.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Daily Operations & Supervision:



Supervise kitchen activities to ensure smooth workflow and timely order delivery. Oversee the preparation of juices, smoothies, bowls, and salads according to recipes and presentation standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen and storage areas. Monitor staff attendance, breaks, and shift schedules.

2. Quality & Food Safety:



Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality hygiene and food safety standards (HACCP). Conduct daily hygiene and temperature checks. Perform quality checks and tastings to maintain consistency and freshness. Guarantee that all ingredients are fresh, properly labelled, and stored at correct temperatures. Monitor and maintain expiry dates on all products and ensure no expired products are stored or used.

3. Inventory & Procurement:



Manage inventory levels and monitor usage of raw materials. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of ingredients and packaging. Maintain stock records and report shortages or discrepancies. Implement FIFO (First-In, First-Out) to minimize waste and control costs.

4. Team Management:



Train, guide, and motivate kitchen staff to uphold The Juice Lab's standards. Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs. Promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive work environment.

5. Coordination & Reporting:



Work closely with the counter and service team to ensure smooth order flow. Communicate production needs, delays, or issues promptly. Submit daily reports on production, wastage, and stock levels. Support new product launches and provide operational feedback. Forecast and prepare for upcoming events, markets, and pop-ups by ensuring adequate staffing, raw materials, and production schedules are in place. Manage and coordinate private or bulk orders, ensuring accurate forecasting, timely preparation, proper packaging, and seamless delivery in coordination with the Operations Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:



Minimum 3 years' experience as a Kitchen Supervisor or similar role in a cafe or healthy food concept. Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and hygiene standards. Proven leadership and team management skills. Basic computer literacy (MS Excel, POS systems). Food Safety and Hygiene certification preferred.

Compensation & Structure



Salary: Competitive; based on experience. Incentive: Performance-based bonuses. Benefits: As per UAE Labour Law (WPS-compliant), annual leave, health insurance after probation. Probation: 6 months. Work Hours: 9 hours shifts (including 1 hour break) on rotation bases. Day off: 1 day per week.
