Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, dishwashing area, and all food preparation zones in accordance with hotel hygiene standards.
Wash and sanitize all kitchen utensils, equipment, dishes, glassware, and cutlery promptly and efficiently.
Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and storage of kitchen equipment and tools to prevent damage or loss.
Support chefs and kitchen staff by supplying clean equipment, tableware, and utensils as required during service.
Remove garbage and recyclables regularly and ensure waste areas are clean and sanitized.
Operate dishwashing machines safely and according to standard operating procedures.
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment as needed.
Follow hotel and local hygiene, health, and safety regulations at all times.
Assist in basic food preparation or other kitchen duties when requested by supervisors.
Report any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Ensure back-of-house areas are always clean, organized, and ready for inspection.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward, Dishwasher, or similar role in a 4- or 5-star hotel or high-volume restaurant preferred.
Understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards.
Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced, hot, and humid kitchen environment.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and assist in various kitchen operations.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
Basic communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
