ob Summary:

The Kitchen Steward plays a key role in maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the central bakery and pastry kitchen. The steward ensures that all baking utensils, trays, molds, mixing tools, and equipment are properly cleaned, sanitized, and organized to support smooth daily production and delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize all baking trays, molds, mixing bowls, utensils, and small equipment used in pastry and bakery production. Maintain cleanliness of ovens, proofers, mixers, chillers, and working tables as per cleaning schedules. Wash and sanitize floors, walls, sinks, racks, and all kitchen areas following HACCP and Dubai Municipality hygiene standards. Safely handle cleaning chemicals and ensure correct dilution and labeling. Collect and dispose of waste properly; segregate organic and non-organic waste as per company policy. Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing bakery raw materials and packaging items when required. Support production staff during busy hours with basic tasks such as moving trays, carrying ingredients, or organizing storage racks. Ensure that all cleaned equipment and utensils are properly dried and stored in designated areas. Report any damage or malfunction of machines or tools immediately to the supervisor. Follow proper hygiene and grooming standards while on duty (uniform, gloves, hairnet, safety shoes, etc.).

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 1 year experience in a kitchen steward or cleaner role (preferably in a bakery, pastry, or food production unit). Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation procedures (HACCP awareness preferred). Physically fit and able to handle cleaning heavy baking trays and equipment. Team-oriented, reliable, and able to work under pressure. Flexible to work in shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Work Environment:

Central bakery and pastry production facility. Exposure to warm, humid, and occasionally cold storage environments. Requires standing for long hours and handling cleaning materials safely.
