Kitchen Steward
Reports To: Executive Chef / Sous Chef / Stewarding Supervisor
Job Overview:
The Kitchen Steward is essential to the smooth and safe operation of the kitchen. They are responsible for the cleanliness and organization of all kitchenware, equipment, and work areas, ensuring the culinary team has the tools they need to operate efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitize all pots, pans, dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using industrial dishwashers or by hand.
  • Ensure the dishwashing area is kept clean, organized, and safe.
  • Remove garbage and recycling, and maintain proper waste disposal procedures.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen floors, walls, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
  • Support chefs with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., peeling vegetables) as requested.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • No formal education or previous experience required; training is provided.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hot, and demanding environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player.
