CURRENT HIRING: RESTAURANT STEWARD

Job Summary: As a Restaurant Steward, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the restaurant's dining areas, kitchen, and service areas. You will be responsible for handling dishwashing, cleaning and organizing utensils and equipment, and ensuring a clean and orderly environment for both guests and staff. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and commitment to cleanliness will contribute to the overall dining experience and operational success of the restaurant.

Responsibilities:

Dishwashing and utensil cleaning: Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, and other kitchen equipment using the appropriate cleaning techniques and detergents. Ensure proper handling and storage of clean dishes, utensils, and glassware to maintain hygiene standards. Sort and organize cleaned items and distribute them to the appropriate areas of the restaurant. Assist with inventory management of dishware, utensils, and cleaning supplies. Kitchen and service area cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including floors, countertops, stovetops, and other surfaces. Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, storage areas, and equipment according to established standards. Empty trash and recycling bins regularly, ensuring proper disposal and adherence to waste management practices. Clean and sanitize high-touch areas, such as door handles, light switches, and handrails. Table and dining area setup: Set up dining tables with clean tablecloths, napkins, utensils, and glassware before service hours. Ensure tables are properly arranged and presentable, following the restaurant's standards for table setup. Assist with resetting tables and cleaning between guest seating to maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Support for service staff: Assist the service staff with refilling water glasses, clearing tables, and resetting them for new guests. Collaborate with the service team to ensure a smooth flow of operations during busy periods. Communicate with the service staff to address any immediate cleaning needs or spillages. Cleaning supplies and equipment maintenance: Monitor and maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials, detergents, and sanitizing agents. Report any malfunctioning equipment or maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel. Follow proper safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment. Adherence to health and safety standards: Comply with all health and safety regulations and guidelines, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to personal hygiene practices. Follow established protocols for preventing cross-contamination and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. Report any health or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
Qualifications and Skills:

Previous experience as a restaurant steward or in a similar role is preferred. Knowledge of proper dishwashing techniques and sanitation standards. Attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness in a fast-paced environment. Basic understanding of health and safety regulations in a food service setting. Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with other staff members. Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks. Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Good communication skills to interact with the service staff and other team members effectively.

Pay: AED1,800.00 - AED2,000.00 per month
