The Kitchen Helper is responsible for assisting the kitchen staff with basic food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining hygiene standards. The role ensures the smooth functioning of the kitchen by supporting chefs and stewards in daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in basic food preparation (washing, peeling, cutting, and portioning ingredients).
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, work surfaces, and equipment.
Wash utensils, dishes, pots, and pans as required.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of food items.
Dispose of kitchen waste in a safe and hygienic manner.
Assist chefs during busy service periods as instructed.
Follow hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
Support stock receiving and storage activities when needed.
Carry out other duties as assigned by the kitchen supervisor or chef.
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous experience in a kitchen or stewarding role preferred but not required.
Basic knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic communication skills.
