Job Summary

We are seeking a disciplined, hardworking, and responsible

Home Cook & Kitchen Assistant

to manage day-to-day cooking, food preparation, kitchen hygiene, and basic outdoor responsibilities. The ideal candidate should be skilled in preparing

Desi, Arabic, and simple Continental dishes

, able to follow recipes accurately, and maintain a

spotless, organized kitchen at all times

. This is a live-in position for a home that regularly hosts guests and values cleanliness, respect, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This position has room for growth and we are ideally looking for someone who will grow into the role of a supervisor after 5 years.

Key Responsibilities

Cooking & Food Prep

Cook daily meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) and occasional snacks, beverages, and small-event meals Follow written and video recipes accurately Conduct daily mise-en-place (cutting, chopping, marination, soaking, freezing, etc.) Pack and label food neatly and hygienically

Kitchen Hygiene & Organization

Maintain

high cleanliness standards

at all times Wash utensils promptly; clean stove, counters, sink, and floors after every meal Organize pantry and fridge; follow FIFO (first-in, first-out) method Ensure zero food waste and proper storage practices

Serving & Guest Support

Assist in table setup, plating, and food service when guests are present Maintain a polite, quiet, and respectful presence around guests

Outdoor & Chicken Care

Clean and maintain outdoor kitchen/utility area Feed chickens, change water, and keep the coop clean and odor-free Collect and store eggs hygienically Water and maintain kitchen garden and plants outdoors

Requirements

Experience as a home cook, kitchen assistant, or commis chef (preferred) Strong knowledge of

South Asian cooking

; willingness to learn more cuisines Ability to follow instructions and recipes without supervision

Physically fit

(lifting pots, climbing stairs, outdoor work) Excellent personal hygiene and kitchen hygiene Comfortable with outdoor tasks and animals (chickens) Honest, disciplined, respectful, and hardworking personality

No smoking, no substance use, and no behavioral issues

Qualification:

Working Conditions & Policies
