Kitchen Staff members support the daily operations of a commercial kitchen by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, assisting chefs, and ensuring food is produced efficiently and safely. This role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation
Wash, peel, chop, and prepare vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients.
Assist with basic cooking tasks such as measuring, mixing, portioning, and plating.
Prepare sauces, garnishes, and simple menu items as directed by the Chef or Cook.
Kitchen Operations
Set up, stock, and maintain workstations throughout the shift.
Ensure all food items are stored properly and labeled according to health and safety guidelines.
Follow standardized recipes and instructions to maintain food quality and consistency.
Cleaning & Sanitation
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, tools, and work areas.
Wash dishes, utensils, and cookware using appropriate procedures.
Follow proper hygiene and sanitation standards, including safe food handling.
Support Duties
Receive and organize deliveries, checking for quality and accuracy.
Dispose of waste and recyclables regularly.
Assist cooks and chefs during busy periods by completing assigned prep and support tasks promptly.
