Equipment Technician Role

An Equipment Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing and installing electrical and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pumps, generators and control systems. They must ensure that the equipment is functioning correctly, and that safety protocols are adhered to. They may also be required to provide technical support, troubleshoot and diagnose issues, and provide preventative maintenance.

Equipment Technician Duties

Install, maintain and repair electronic and mechanical equipment Carry out routine checks and tests and take corrective action where necessary Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and customers Troubleshoot and diagnose faults and malfunctions Carry out modifications and upgrades Order and maintain stocks of spares and components

Equipment Technician Requirements

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment faults Knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems and related components Ability to use a variety of power and hand tools Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and manuals Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Good communication and customer service skills Must have driving license (required)
