Job Summary:

The Kitchen Equipment Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of all commercial kitchen appliances and systems within the facilities managed by the organization. The role ensures optimal performance of equipment while complying with safety and operational standards. The technician will work closely with the facility management team to support seamless kitchen operations across all sites.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, steamers, dishwashers, chillers, and exhaust hoods. Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and gas-related faults in kitchen appliances. Maintain accurate service logs, maintenance reports, and inventory records. Ensure all kitchen equipment complies with local health, safety, and fire protection codes. Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and contractors for parts replacement or specialized services. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency service calls. Support facility audits and inspections by ensuring kitchen equipment is compliant and functional. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated with the latest kitchen technologies and equipment standards. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the workspace during and after repair work. Work in coordination with other technical teams (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) within the FM department.

Qualifications:

Technical Diploma or Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, or related field. 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial kitchen equipment in a facility management or hospitality setting. Strong technical knowledge of gas, electric, steam, and refrigeration-based kitchen systems. Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage. Good communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and respond to after-hours emergencies when needed. Basic computer skills for logging work orders and service updates.

Preferred Certifications:

HVAC or Refrigeration Certification
