We are seeking a motivated Kitchen Assistant to support our sushi chefs and kitchen staff. The Kitchen Assistant will help with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure smooth kitchen operations in a sushi restaurant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist sushi chefs with basic food preparation (washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and preparing ingredients).
Wash rice, prepare sushi rice, and assist in the preparation of seafood and other sushi ingredients.
Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment.
Wash dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen tools.
Ensure proper storage and labeling of ingredients, especially seafood.
Dispose of waste properly and maintain a clean, organized kitchen.
Follow hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
Support chefs and staff with any other tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service is a plus, especially in Japanese cuisine or sushi.
Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
Team player with a positive attitude.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
