Overview of the role

The Kitchen Assembler is responsible for assembling and installing kitchen components, ensuring high-quality standards, and delivering exceptional service to customers. This role involves working with various kitchen elements, including cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and appliances to ensure Customer expectation from their visit to IKEA is met or exceeded by effectively carrying out day to day jobs to meet service standards, to generate repeat visits and profit to the business

What you will do

Operational
  • Deliver and off load kitchen furniture\'s to customer\'s place in a timely manner
  • Follow safety procedures as per IKEA manual in loading and unloading as well as at the time of assembly, to prevent physical injuries, or damage to company or customer property.
  • Follow all the IKEA procedures regarding information and documentation whilst making deliveries, making sure that the assembly is done according to the kitchen plan and design.
  • Manage inventory and report any discrepancies.
  • Install cabinets, countertops, and fixtures accurately and securely.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of kitchen assembly and installation.
  • Perform quality checks to meet IKEA standards.
  • Communicate/reports to HD after sale team for any stocks
  • Communicate/reports to Kitchen designer specialist team for designing errors
  • Constantly update knowledge of current range and assembly instructions so as to effectively carry out assembly jobs and install customer confidence.
  • Maintain tool box for assembly and ensure all the tools are available and in good working condition.
  • Provide feedback on daily technical errors with action plan.
  • Provide feedback if there is any quality problems.
  • Collaborate with other department and team members of 3rd party, such as Sales, Back-office team, Customer relations and service providers, to ensure completing kitchen installation within the selected time frames.
Customers
  • Ensure personal hygiene and tidiness when visiting customer/premise for delivery and assembly, and interact with customer with due consideration to cultural sensibilities.
  • Build customer satisfaction by handling all queries, providing usage information as well as cleaning up after assembly.
  • Provide excellent customer service during installations, addressing customer queries or concerns professionally.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace during and after assembly.
People Management & Development
  • Training and developing new co-workers in assembling kitchen skills as well as procedures and processes.
Required skills to be successful
  • Furniture assembly experience
  • Kitchen equipment assembly experience
  • Carpentry skills
  • Good English communication skills
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, or design plans.
  • Proficient in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various environments.

  • 3 - 4 years previous experience in kitchen assembly or carpentry
