The Role: Junior Interior Designer (Entry-Level)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented

Junior Interior Designer

to support our design team. This is an entry-level, full-time, in-person position in Doha, Qatar.

The primary focus of this role will be on the critical initial stages of the design process, ensuring our concepts are visually compelling and technically sound through expert material and mood board creation and meticulous material sourcing.

The Junior Interior Designer will be responsible for a comprehensive range of tasks essential to the design process:I. Design Visualization and Presentation

Material Board Creation:

Develop detailed and professional physical and digital material boards (sample boards) that accurately reflect the design concept, including finishes, fabrics, and hard materials.

Mood Board Development:

Create inspiring and cohesive mood boards to communicate the overall aesthetic, style, and emotional tone of a project to clients and the internal team.

Design Support:

Assist senior designers with various design tasks, including preparing presentation documents, organizing project files, and creating basic 2D drawings or renderings as needed.
II. Material Sourcing and Coordination

Material Sourcing:

Proactively research and source new and innovative materials, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) from local and international suppliers.

Supplier Relations:

Maintain and update the company's material library, liaise with vendors, and collect samples and specifications for project use.

Sample Management:

Organize, track, and manage all physical material samples, ensuring the library is current and easily accessible.
III. General Design Administration

Documentation:

Assist in preparing specifications, schedules, and procurement lists for materials and FF&E.

Site Visits:

Accompany senior designers on site visits and supplier meetings as required.
Qualifications and SkillsRequired Qualifications (Entry-Level)

A degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.

Entry-Level Experience:

0-2 years of professional experience.

Portfolio:

A strong portfolio demonstrating creative ability and proficiency in material selection and presentation.
Essential Skills (Proficiency in Everything)As this role requires proficiency in all aspects of design support, candidates must demonstrate competency in the following:

Design Software:

Proficiency in industry-standard software, including but not limited to:

CAD/Drafting:

AutoCAD, Revit, or similar.

3D Modeling:

SketchUp, 3ds Max, or similar.

Graphic Presentation:

Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) and/or Microsoft PowerPoint/Google Slides.

Material Knowledge:

A keen interest in and developing knowledge of construction materials, finishes, and FF&E.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Organization:

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in managing samples and specifications.
