BE A VALUABLE AGENT OF TRANSFORMATION. Reports directly to the Executive Chef. Junior Sous Chef is primarily responsible for assisting the EC in supervising food quality, production, and costs. JSC serves as the Third-in-command of the kitchen. Delegates tasks to kitchen personnel in a supportive and precise manner. Has knowledge of kitchen stations and if required, fills in for and assists cooks in ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly. Complies with expected administrative duties such as ordering, inventory, training, and scheduling. Is responsible for presenting and communicating transparent inputs that will both represent the vision, values, and full offerings of The Bridge Lifestyle Hub. This intends to highlight the most critical areas of responsibility only and does not cover all aspects of the position. | KEY RESPONSIBILITIES | OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
  • Assists EC with the preparation and planning of meal designs, meal plans, and specialty menus.
  • In the absence of EC coordinates and directs all food preparation, from ordering, preparation through service.
  • Monitors the quality of food and beverages and communicates any needs improvements that done fall under Experience Procedures.
  • Ensures that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.
  • Provides support to the Junior kitchen Team with various tasks, including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
  • Ensures that the task is harmoniously performed in order to ensure the timely production of quality foods.
  • Assists EC in training new kitchen staff.
| ADMINISTRATION
  • Monitors and updates Technical sheets. Communicates needed details to EC.
  • Ensures completion of Daily/Weekly duties.
  • Tracks, records, and maintains inventory stock, including foods, beverages, and kitchen supplies.
  • Updates Employee files and collaborates with the HC department if required.
  • Prepares ordering forms that are ready for submission to EC.
| INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Supports and promotes initiatives carried by the Marketing | PR team and suggests its own ideas.
  • Ascertains a high degree of anticipation and maintains a Net Promoter Score.
  • Engages with guests, members, Taste team supports their enquires and concerns.
  • Is welcoming and accommodating when discussing any requests.
  • Is familiar with all activities of The Bridge, and is able to explain as well as demonstrate the TB App to customers.
  • Performs any reasonable task required that might be outside the job scope in the spirit of collaboration.
| SUSTAINED LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
  • Participates in TB training sessions and communication briefings on a monthly, weekly, and /or daily basis.
  • Supports employees during the onboarding period, induction sessions, and refresher training if required.
  • Maximizes opportunities for self-development to upgrade his/her knowledge and skills by actively participating in TB internal and external initiatives and App.
  • Researches new advances in gastronomy, wellbeing improvement, and hospitality trends. Shares done researches with EC and SC.
| HYGIENE & SAFETY
  • Maintains a high level of personal hygiene, seeks feedback on areas of shortfall and complies with the Grooming procedures.
  • Assists other members of the Taste team in complying with the grooming experience procedures and reports any necessary improvements to EC and SC.
  • Complies with all Health & Safety regulations while performing daily duties at all times.
  • Takes responsibility for reporting any hazard and follows up to ensure the execution of required actions.
| POSITION REQUIREMENTS | EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE Courses in the following integrated modalities will add value to the preferred candidate. Please send any additional qualifications, interests, and experiences that contribute to your holistic lifestyle.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
  • Good understanding of MS Office and restaurant software programs.
  • Must be able to relate to all levels of management.
  • Resourceful, forward-thinking, innovative, and committed.
  • Must be willing to add value to enhance health, safety, and productivity as well as maintain TB to thrive on being a smoke-free workplace.
