Summary
Recommend and serve wines to guests, ensuring proper presentation and pairing with menu items
Maintain accurate inventory of wines and update wine lists as required
Ensure compliance with proper storage standards, hygiene, and hotel policies for wine service
Monitor wine stock levels and communicate replenishment needs to the supervisor or manager
Assist in organizing wine tastings and promotional events for guests
Handle guest queries regarding wine selection and provide professional advice
Maintain records of wine sales and contribute to achieving upselling targets
Collaborate with kitchen and service teams to ensure seamless food and wine pairing
Support in training service staff on wine knowledge and proper serving techniques
Stay updated on wine trends, regions, and vintages to enhance guest experience
Qualifications
Diploma or certification in Hospitality, Food & Beverage, or specialized wine studies (e.g., WSET Level 2 or equivalent)
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in wine service or as a waiter with strong wine knowledge
Good understanding of wine regions, varietals, and food pairing principles
Excellent communication and guest interaction skills with a passion for wine
