Job Description

Job Purpose



The primary function of this role is to support EGA Re by assisting in the assessment and management of reinsurance risks within the captive structure. Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, ensuring compliance with Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) standards, supporting underwriting activities under Abu Dhabi Global Markets (ADGM) regulations, and assisting the risk engineering team.

The position provides day-to-day support for EGA Re's underwriting and claims activities, working closely with the EGA Insurance Manager and ensuring deadlines are met.

Key Accountabilities



General
Assist with risk assessments by reviewing reinsurance submissions and preparing preliminary underwriting summaries. Support tracking of renewal timelines and coordination of renewals for all EGA Re policies. Assist with reviewing insurance and reinsurance contracts and wordings for new and renewal business. Analyze claims bordereaux and loss data from brokers; prepare draft claims authorization forms. Act as a secondary contact between insured assets and the internal Risk Engineering team.

Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate underwriting records in line with FSRA and internal requirements. Keep audit-ready documentation of treaties, endorsements, and correspondence. Assist in the preparation of insurance materials for board packs. Support development and improvement of procedures manuals.




Data Analysis & Reporting
Collect and analyze underwriting data to support decision-making. Prepare reports on underwriting performance and risk exposure at set intervals. Conduct reviews of re/insurance contracts and wording for new and renewal business.

Stakeholder Coordination
Provide day-to-day liaison with outsourced captive managers to ensure compliance with SLAs. Support communication with internal departments (risk engineering, insurance, finance, legal) and external stakeholders (brokers, cedents). Assist with processing premiums, reinsurance recoveries, commissions, and brokerage payments. Communicate professionally with brokers, reinsurers, lawyers, actuaries, and service providers.

Process Improvement
Identify potential enhancements to processes and efficiency. Participate in implementing new tools or systems.

Risk Engineering Support
Assist in coordinating risk engineering visits and tracking reports. Monitor and track risk improvement recommendations and update stakeholders. Support the accuracy of the risk improvement recommendations database.




Regulatory Compliance & Reporting
Support compliance with FSRA Rulebooks and ADGM regulations (reporting, data protection, internal controls). Contribute to preparation of data for Electronic Prudential Reporting System (EPRS). Map data accurately to FSRA reporting formats.

Onboarding & Licensing Support
Prepare documentation for FSRA authorisations or permission changes. Ensure activities remain within the licensed scope.

Risk Management & Governance
Assist with proportional risk management systems for underwriting, reserving, and operational risks. Maintain RiskConnect data entry from reinsurance contracts and risk engineering reports.

Internal Controls & Audit Readiness
Maintain complete, audit-ready underwriting documentation. Support internal audits to ensure FSRA compliance.




Data Protection & Confidentiality
Adhere to ADGM Data Protection Regulations. Participate in training on data privacy and cybersecurity.

Outsourcing Oversight
Assist in monitoring third-party service providers' compliance with FSRA outsourcing requirements. Support maintenance of SLA documentation and performance assessments.

Training & Continuous Development
Commit to ongoing professional development. Participate in FSRA-mandated training and CPD programs. Stay informed on international standards such as IFRS 17 and Solvency II.



Authority / Decision-Making


Operates under clearly defined policies, standards, and objectives, with supervision from senior team members. Decisions are guided by practices and procedures; outputs are subject to review.

Qualifications & Skills


Minimum Qualifications


Educational background in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Actuarial Science, or related field. Professional certifications an advantage (CII, CPCU, ARe, ARM).

Experience


3 years' experience in underwriting or insurance operations, ideally in reinsurance or captive insurance. Familiarity with ADGM and FSRA regulatory environment or similar. Awareness of HSSE standards in heavy industry.



Skills


Strong analytical and data management skills. Effective interpersonal and communication abilities. Ability to collaborate across departments and manage time effectively. Knowledge of risk assessment methods, insurance policies, and regulations. High attention to detail and organizational skills. Strong English (verbal and written); additional languages an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems. Flexible, reliable, and professional, with integrity and discretion. * Operate within FSMR and FSRA Rulebooks, staying updated on circulars and guidance.
