Job Summary:
Lead and control the postings and day-to-day general ledger transactions to develop financial statements in conformity with local and international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and publish a schedule for the month and year-end closing activities to inform all stakeholders, and follow up accordingly in order to ensure meeting the set closing deadlines for the timely execution of closing activities, reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Maintain EAD's general ledger structure to display efficiently the financial information and current balances of the sectors/ divisions.
- Review and verify journal entries such as invoices, contracts, terms and conditions, etc., to ensure accuracy of information and resolution of identified discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare monthly general ledger reports in order to provide auditors and other stakeholders with timely information on general ledger transactions, and financial discrepancies and justifications in order to inform decision making.
- Distribute general ledger reports to keep informed internally for accounting activities.
- Perform any other duties as requested by the line manager.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any related specialization.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the relevant field; for Bachelor's Degree graduates and 4 years for Diploma Degree graduates.
