Role Overview

As a

Joinery Machine Operator

you will run and maintain automated woodworking machinery to turn design drawings into finished components that meet exacting quality and safety standards. You will collaborate closely with CAD/CAM programmers, cabinetmakers, and the QA team to keep daily production on schedule and minimize material waste.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation:

Set up, program, and operate CNC routers, beam-saws, edge-banders, spindle moulders, thickness planers, and sanding machines. Load and unload panels, veneers, and solid timber according to daily cut lists.

Quality Control

: Verify dimensions with calipers, tape measures, and templates against shop drawings.Flag defects and make minor tool-path adjustments in real time to maintain tolerance 0.2 mm.

Preventive Maintenance

Clean dust-extraction ducts, lubricate bearings, and replace cutter heads and drill bits as per maintenance schedule. Record downtime, faults, and corrective actions in the maintenance log.

Health & Safety:

Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures, use PPE, and enforce safe-zone protocols. Report near misses and participate in monthly toolbox talks.

Process Improvement:

Suggest jig and fixture enhancements, nesting-pattern tweaks, or tooling upgrades that cut cycle time or waste.

Minimum Requirements

Experience:

3+ years operating CNC or semi-automated woodworking machines in a joinery, furniture, or shop-fitting factory.

Technical Skills:

Ability to read production drawings and DXF/NC files; basic G-code understanding is an advantage.

Education:

ITI / Diploma in Wood Technology, Carpentry, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands-on training.

Language:

Basic English for shop-floor communication; Hindi/Urdu or Arabic a plus.

Physical:

Capable of lifting 25 kg boards, standing for extended periods, and working in a temperature-controlled but noisy environment.

Compliance:

Familiar with ISO 9001 quality systems and HSE best practices.
