Joinery Estimator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Joinery Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for retail joinery and fit-out projects. The role requires a strong technical understanding of joinery and the ability to produce precise take-offs and quotations.
Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for retail joinery fit-out projects from concept drawings and BOQs.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs (QTO) from architectural, interior, and shop drawings.
• Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for materials, hardware, and specialized services.
• Prepare comprehensive and clear proposal documents, including cost breakdowns and clarifications.
• Liaise with project managers, designers, and clients to clarify project scope and requirements.
• Maintain and update a database of material costs, labor rates, and vendor information.
• Assist in value engineering exercises to provide cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
• Review project specifications to identify potential risks and cost factors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
• 4-5 years of specific experience as a Joinery Estimator, with a strong focus on retail fit-out projects.
• Proficient in using estimation software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Planswift, CostX, or similar).
• Advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong knowledge of joinery materials, hardware, manufacturing processes, and installation.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight tender deadlines.
