Position Summary

The Joinery Carpenter is responsible for fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing wooden and wood-based joinery components such as doors, frames, cabinets, wardrobes, countertops, and decorative elements. The role requires precision workmanship, an understanding of drawings, and the ability to work with various machines, tools, and finishing materials.

Key Responsibilities

Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, MDF, and related materials. Fabricate joinery elements such as: Doors & frames Cabinets, wardrobes & shelving Counters & counters cladding Wall cladding & partitions Furniture items Install joinery works on-site including fitting, alignment, and finishing. Operate joinery machines and tools (saws, planers, routers, sanders, etc.). Perform finishing works: sanding, edge banding, veneering, staining, and varnishing. Ensure all joinery items meet quality standards and dimensional accuracy. Conduct site measurements and prepare cutting lists. Repair or modify existing woodworks as required. Follow health & safety workplace standards. Coordinate with site supervisors, designers, and other trades. Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop cleanliness.

Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in joinery or carpentry work. Ability to read shop drawings and technical diagrams. Skilled in the use of woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools. Knowledge of materials: solid wood, MDF, plywood, laminates, veneers. Good understanding of joinery techniques and hardware installation. Strong measurement accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Basic problem-solving and time-management skills.

Preferred (Optional)

Trade certification or vocational training. Experience in site installation work. Knowledge of finishing techniques and materials. UAE experience (if needed).

Work Environment

Workshop and site-based May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, or in active construction areas
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month

Expected hours: 48 - 70 per week
