Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced

Italian Pizza Chef

to join our culinary team. The Pizza Chef will be responsible for preparing authentic Italian-style pizzas, managing the pizza station, ensuring food quality, and maintaining high hygiene standards. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of traditional Italian pizza-making techniques, ingredients, and baking methods.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare a wide range of Italian-style pizzas, including Neapolitan, Roman, and gourmet variations. Manage dough preparation: mixing, kneading, proofing, stretching, and shaping according to authentic Italian standards. Handle pizza toppings, sauces, cheeses, and high-quality ingredients. Operate and maintain pizza ovens (wood-fired / gas / electric) at optimal temperatures. Monitor food quality, portion control, and consistency for every order. Maintain cleanliness of the pizza station and adhere to food safety & hygiene guidelines. Develop new pizza recipes and seasonal menu items. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service. Check inventory, request ingredients, and ensure proper stock levels. Train junior staff on pizza preparation and oven handling.

Requirements

Proven experience as an Italian Pizza Chef or Pizza Maker in a restaurant or pizzeria. Strong knowledge of Italian pizza-making techniques, including dough fermentation and oven handling. Ability to work under pressure during busy hours. Good communication and teamwork skills. Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with wood-fired oven operation. Knowledge of Italian cuisine beyond pizza (pasta, breads, antipasti). Culinary diploma or certification (optional but preferred).

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long periods during service. Ability to lift up to 15-20 kg (flour bags, dough trays).
