We are seeking a highly capable and service-oriented
IT Support Engineer
to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of COENGR's IT infrastructure, providing frontline support to staff, and maintaining systems critical to day-to-day engineering operations. This position plays a key role in enhancing operational efficiency through responsive technical support, proactive maintenance, and secure system management.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide timely technical assistance to employees for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, scanners, and conferencing equipment.
Monitor and resolve IT issues, escalating complex issues when necessary.
Administer user accounts, group policies, and access controls via Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
Support and maintain Windows-based environments, network infrastructure, and file servers.
Perform routine backups, patch updates, and ensure system security compliance.
Install, update, and provide technical support for engineering applications such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and other specialized tools used by COENGR's design teams.
Coordinate with software vendors for licensing, technical issues, and renewals.
Maintain accurate IT inventory records for hardware and software.
Support and manage relationships with IT service providers and equipment suppliers.
Monitor warranties, AMC contracts, and license renewals.
Assist in IT setup and support for project sites and remote staff across UAE and COENGR's overseas offices.
Ensure secure VPN and remote access connectivity for project teams.
Maintain detailed documentation for systems, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Generate periodic reports on system performance, issues, and improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in IT support, preferably in the engineering, construction, or consulting sector.
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA N+ , and CCNA is a must.
MCSA certification would be an advantage.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows OS, Active Directory, PCs, (software and hardware), Printers, Scanners and other electronic devices, networking fundamentals, and servers.
Experience with firewall systems, antivirus solutions, and endpoint security.
Experience with managing VPN access for overseas employees.
Familiarity with engineering software tools and license management.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer service mindset.
Analytical thinking and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage.
