Job Description

The IT Support Assistant provides technical assistance and support to end-users within the organization. Responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT equipment, and ensuring smooth operation of IT services. The role requires strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach to help users resolve technical problems efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond to user requests for technical assistance via phone, email, or in person.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
Install, configure, and upgrade computer systems, peripherals, and software.
Maintain inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation.
Assist in setting up new hardware and software for employees.
Support routine maintenance and updates of IT systems.
Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or vendors as needed.
Monitor and manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies and security protocols.
Document issues and solutions accurately in the support ticketing system.
Assist in training users on new hardware or software applications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified IT Support (preferred).
Basic knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, and networking.
Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Prior experience in IT support or helpdesk role is a plus.
