Job Description

The IT Strategy and Planning Manager is responsible for developing the Group IT Strategy and planning of the IT initiatives of the group. This critical role will involve collaborating with key stakeholders to define IT objectives, creating comprehensive IT strategies, and leading the planning and execution of IT projects to support the organization\'s goals and objectives. The IT Strategy and Planning Manager will play a critical role in driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, and aligning IT initiatives with business priorities

\xc2\xa7 Develop and implement IT strategic plans in alignment with the organization\'s overall objectives and long-term vision.

\xc2\xa7 Collaborate with senior management and key stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable IT strategies and initiatives.

\xc2\xa7 Conduct a thorough analysis of existing IT systems, processes, and infrastructure to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.

\xc2\xa7 Lead the IT project portfolio management process, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and budgeting.

\xc2\xa7 Oversee the planning and execution of IT projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

\xc2\xa7 Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to recommend innovative solutions that can enhance IT capabilities and drive business value.

\xc2\xa7 Provide leadership and guidance to the IT strategy and planning team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

\xc2\xa7 Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including business units and executive management, to ensure alignment and effective communication of IT strategies and initiatives.

\xc2\xa7 Evaluate and assess IT risks, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and security standards.

\xc2\xa7 Monitor and report on the progress, outcomes, and benefits realization of IT strategic initiatives, providing regular updates to key stakeholders

Strategic Management

\xc2\xa7 Recommends long-term, best-in-class architecture/technology that will provide enhanced support across the enterprise.

\xc2\xa7 Sponsors, coordinates, and approves the enterprise strategic technology plan.

\xc2\xa7 Balances the need for enterprise-level technology strategy with business-level and geographical flexibility and level of responsiveness.

\xc2\xa7 Allocates and aligns resources to meet plan objectives.

\xc2\xa7 Partners with senior enterprise leaders to integrate the strategic technology plan with the enterprise\'s long-term plans.

Cost and Budget

\xc2\xa7 Provide a budget for the management department and planning.

\xc2\xa7 Provide Budget Control on IT services and Projects

\xc2\xa7 Provide technical and project direction on major acquisitions.

\xc2\xa7 Manage suppliers to assure cost-efficient and high-quality support

\xc2\xa7 Optimize the cost of resources

Strategy development

\xc2\xa7 Contribute to strategic direction and vision for the Group IT, especially from an applications management perspective.

\xc2\xa7 Ensure that the goals for cost, value, and risk management are achieved.

\xc2\xa7 Strategize, develop, and maintain the application strategy and planning for core applications, individual business units, and cross-enterprise processes.

Building AWR Brand

\xc2\xa7 Publish articles, white papers, etc. in AWR and public journals/media

\xc2\xa7 Represent AWR in public events and forums

\xc2\xa7 Attend and/or contribute to partnership days and events from principal companies

Communication

\xc2\xa7 Manage project and portfolio communication with internal and business stakeholders

\xc2\xa7 Advise the team on the right communication methods and help them develop appropriate communication skills

Knowledge Management

\xc2\xa7 Transfer the knowledge by sharing the documents and training the application management team.

\xc2\xa7 Provides guidance, technical leadership, and training to less experienced staff.

\xc2\xa7 Pursue and Complete professional courses and certifications

Policies and Procedure

\xc2\xa7 Adapt methodologies, technologies, and practices to incorporate the change

\xc2\xa7 Develops and implements application standards, procedures, and guidelines.

\xc2\xa7 Implementing processes that facilitate and enhance internal communications, reporting and high productivity

Qualifications

Education and Certifications:

Education and Certifications:

\xc2\xa7 Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.

\xc2\xa7 A master\'s degree in management and/or finance is preferred.

\xc2\xa7 Certifications in ITIL, CGEIT, COBIT, PMP/PgMP, etc. preferred

Experience:

\xc2\xa7 Fifteen or more years of experience in IT and business/industry.

\xc2\xa7 Seven to ten years of technology leadership responsibilities.

\xc2\xa7 Preferably five or more years of experience in related, industry-leading, large, cross-functional teams and/or enterprise-wide programs, influencing senior-level management and key stakeholders effectively across the organization and within complex contexts

\xc2\xa7 Demonstrated experience in IT strategic planning and projects portfolio management. Prior experience in business strategy, organizational design and development is an advantage.

\xc2\xa7 Experience in managing and prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

\xc2\xa7 Knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT strategy and planning.

\xc2\xa7 Preferable - prior experience within IT Strategic Planning function of an enterprise IT department in a business conglomerate having business units across multiple industries like properties, automotive, manufacturing, retail, logistics, services, etc.

\xc2\xa7 Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning, and execution skills

\xc2\xa7 Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in direct control of this role.

\xc2\xa7 Strong understanding of IT governance, enterprise architecture, and IT service management frameworks.

\xc2\xa7 Expertise in budget planning and financial management

\xc2\xa7 Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.

\xc2\xa7 Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a strategic people plan that ensures that the right people are in the right roles at the right time and that employees are highly engaged and satisfied

\xc2\xa7 Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and a focus on delivering business value.

\xc2\xa7 Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

\xc2\xa7 Knowledge of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in IT strategy and planning.

\xc2\xa7 Excellent conduct of English, Arabic is a plus.

\xc2\xa7 Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.

\xc2\xa7 Positive attitude \xe2\x80\x93 always on the look for solving problems and helping others.
