Ramada Encore Muscat is now seeking an IT Specilist to join our team.

Job Summary

The IT Specialist is responsible for assisting with all operations of the computer hardware, software and systems of the hotel, ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed, and rectifying any problems which arise.

Education & Experience

At least 2 years of progressive experience in IT, systems or related field Experience in a hotel or related industry helpful. Must be proficient in Windows, Company approved spreadsheets and word processing and in the operation of all hotel-specific systems.

Physical Requirements

Long hours sometimes required. Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

General Requirements

Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag. Comply with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions. Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives. Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs. Perform other duties as requested by management.

Fundamental Requirements

Consult with management to determine information requirements and to determine priorities and parameters of new projects; discuss system capacity and equipment acquisitions. Consult with systems hardware analysts to define equipment needs. Review project feasibility studies. Establish work standards. Prepare progress reports to inform management of project status and any deviation from goals. Assist with contracting technical specialists or vendors to solve problems. Revise computer operating schedule to introduce new program testing and operating runs. Review reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to ascertain costs and plan operating changes. Assist staff to diagnose and solve computer equipment problems. Participate in technical projects such as writing equipment specifications or developing computer programs for specified applications. Maintain and stay abreast of the latest computer programs/innovations (as applicable). COMPANY OVERVIEW:
