IT Solution Architect

Role purpose:

The IT Solution Architect is responsible for the design and development of the information technology solutions and mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architectural plan.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership

Facilitate discussions with both business and technical stakeholders to extract critical business requirements and present a technical vision & solution that meet project needs. Provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize the return on technology investment
Within the agreed enterprise architecture, define and design technology solutions to assist the business in meeting their business objectives

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

Expertise in BSS/OSS solution design in an Operating Company. Experience in vendor selection through RFPs/RFQs for IT implementations. Strategic business acumen and understanding of organization strategy and ability to design information systems to delivery that strategy Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts and solutions to different stakeholders. Strong conceptual and analytical skills - demonstrating outside-the-box problem solving skills.

Technical / professional qualifications:

Over 10 years of IT Industry experience - strong technical understanding of the telecom systems, architecture, and solutions. A minimum of 5 years in a professional senior technical role such as technical lead, team lead, architect or consultancy at system integrator. Able to define and document high-level solution and system architectures and explain how various components of the architecture will interact. Able to estimate the level of effort and duration for entire projects Experience of developing Services Orientated Architectures (SOA) Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture methodologies such as TOGAF or the equivalent
