Responsibilities & Qualifications

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is an independent agency established in 1934 to identify, protect, preserve, and make publicly available the historically valuable records of all three branches of the Federal Government. Team members on the NARA IT and Telecommunications Support Services (NITTSS) program are modernizing the enterprise by implementing a Zero-Trust security model, increasing cloud adoption, and replacing legacy technology with modern tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES Serves as a technical expert and main point of contact for ensuring IT security best practices are followed and deployed in order to maintain a proper cybersecurity posture for the enterprise. Lead a team of cybersecurity engineers and analysts in the Security Operations Center to detect, analyze, respond to, report on, and prevent cybersecurity incidents. Support advanced forensic analysis, cryptanalysis, malware and antivirus management, and incident response. Serve as a key participant in NARA's transition to a Zero Trust Architecture Support Access Control Management and Privileged Account Management Support System Security Assessment and Authorization Support vulnerability and patch management Align standards, frameworks and security with overall business and technology strategy Design security architecture elements to mitigate threats as they emerge Define, implement, and maintain security policies Provide subject matter expertise on data security for projects looking to implement new tools, products, or processes. Provide maintenance of systems to protect data from unauthorized users Lead and facilitate organizational training and communications around data security and information protection issues. Oversee incident response planning as well as the investigation of security breaches Develop strategies to respond to and recover from a security breach Develop or implement tools to assist in detection, prevention, and analysis of security threats Conducts periodic network scans to identify vulnerability

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience: 7 years of experience managing cybersecurity Expert knowledge of Federal cybersecurity Mandates Strong written and oral communication Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
