Scouting for an IT Manager to join our team.
This isn't a role about inheriting an existing stack; it's about designing it, from scratch. For the initial months, your focus will be entirely on planning & researching the future of our retail infrastructure. Deployment will follow much later. If you're a smart, adaptable go-getter who can evaluate, select and ultimately master any technology needed to build a resilient, scalable retail platform, then you're exactly who we're looking for.
What You'll Be Doing :

• Strategic Architecture & Technology Selection:

You'll lead the charge in researching, evaluating and recommending the foundational technology stack for our infrastructure. This includes cloud providers (AWS/ Azure/GCP), IaC tools, database solutions, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, security frameworks and retail-specific integrations (e.g., POS, ERP, e-commerce platforms).

• Deep Dive Planning & Design: You'll spend the first few months in meticulous planning and architectural design. This involves:

• Defining the core infrastructure principles for scalability, security, cost-efficiency and reliability in a retail environment.
• Mapping out future infrastructure needs based on projected business growth and retail operations (e-commerce, in-store, supply chain).
• Creating detailed architectural diagrams and documentation for every component before a single line of deployment code is written.
• Planning for compliance requirements from day one.
• Shaping Our Technological Future: You'll be the expert voice, advising our leadership on the long-term implications of technology choices, potential challenges and strategic opportunities. Your decisions will set the technical direction for years to come.
• Smart Communication & Collaboration with Founders: You'll work hand-in-hand with the founding team, translating complex technical concepts and strategic options into clear, compelling arguments. Your ability to communicate concisely and influence critical decisions will be paramount.
• Future Hands-On Deployment (Later Stage): While the initial phase is strategic, you're expected to be a hands-on builder when the time comes. You'll be responsible for implementing the designs you've created, ensuring seamless deployment and operation.

• The "Clean Slate" Enthusiast: You've got 8+ years of progressive infrastructure experience, with a proven track record of designing and planning complex, scalable systems. Experience in roles where you influenced significant technology choices is a huge plus.

• Technology Agnostic & Quick Study: You don't come tied to one specific technology. Instead, you possess a deep understanding of infrastructure fundamentals and an exceptional ability to quickly evaluate, learn and master any new technology or platform. You think in first principles, not just specific tools.
• Retail Sector Insight: You have experience within the Retail, E-commerce or Omni-channel technology domain. You understand the unique demands of high-volume transactions, seasonal peaks, point-of-sale systems and secure payment processing.
• Exceptional Communicator to Leadership: This is crucial. You can articulate highly complex technical strategies, risks and opportunities to non-technical founders and senior leaders with clarity, confidence, and persuasiveness.
• Future Builder: While your initial focus is planning, you're excited by the prospect of eventually building out and owning the infrastructure you've designed. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), IaC (Terraform) and containerization (Kubernetes) is valuable, showing your capability to execute when the time comes.
