OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:

Organize the IT sector of the Operation to the highest professional standards and in accordance to the established procedures as issued by the management, the group IT Director and the hard and software manufacturers. Executes assigned tasks independently and with the necessary confidentiality demanded for this position. Administers the entire system and follows up hard and software problems. Instruct users on new applications. Introduces newcomers on the system and signs them in if their position so requires. Assign changes or deletes access codes and ensures their confidentiality. Assists the guests in solving the internet related issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complies with all pertinent policies and procedures.
  • Exhibits managerial abilities and team leading skillsets.
  • Works towards implementing the corporate manuals and follows the corporate manuals in all times.
  • Be aligned in all actions with the corporate vision, mission and values.
  • Assists the Managing Director and Director of Finance in all IT matters.
  • Plans and sets targets for IT matters.
  • Establishes clear IT procedures for each user group.
  • Coordinates technical guidance to users.
  • Assists in the development of IT modifications and updates including the implementation thereof.
  • Searches for areas of improvement in the existing system with new adjusted soft and hardware.
  • Works with lead users to regularly evaluate business systems.
  • Ensures consistent documentation of all software development and technical projects.
  • Prepares and/or helps in the preparation of users' operational manuals including check lists and procedures to be followed by the users.
  • Controls, reviews and evaluates continuously the existing configuration.
  • Monitors and controls the relation between the property and the computer companies with regards to maintenance contracts and purchase of supplies.
  • Follows courses in order to constantly update his know-how for the systems in use in the property.
  • Reviews requests for new applications.
  • Coordinates installation of new hardware, peripherals and software.
  • Keeps his work environment clean and proper at any time.

  • Carries out duties that may from time to time be assigned to him by the Director of Finance and the Managing Director.
OSHAD RESPONSIBILITIES:

While at work, (and while on work premises) an associate shall:
  • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety.
  • Take reasonable care of the health and safety of a person and the workplace, that may be affected by their acts or omission at work;
  • Cooperate with full compliance with Hotel's developed OSHMS policies, OSHMS procedures & operational works instruction in order to protect the health and safety of the people.
  • Report to immediate supervisor any situation which they have reason to believe could present a hazards and which they cannot themselves correct;
  • Report all OSH incidents and work related injuries; and
  • Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided (e.g. Equipment & machineries, PPE, etc.) at the Hotel's workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of the workplace.
  • Participate in conduct of OSH related planning and implementation in order to achieve the Hotel's OSH objectives, targets & program.
  • Attend all training arranged by Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager such as OSH training, safety Induction, on the job training, tool box talks, etc.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • To report all OSH matters to Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety Manager
  • Is accountable for his and his worker safety
  • Report to the Director of Finance
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years' experience as Assistant IT Manager or IT Manager at a 5 star hotel.
  • Education: Bachelor degree in IT; professional certification preferred.
  • General Skills: Positive attitude , hard worker , team player
  • Technical Skills: Sun system, Micros, Opera, Active Directory, networking, maintenance, budgeting, email writing skills
  • Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency, other languages preferred.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
