Role Summary
The IT Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for day-to-day systems administration, infrastructure monitoring, and technical support across Windows and Linux environments. The role supports mission-critical systems, maintains compliance with security and operational standards, and contributes to infrastructure projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and systems administration for regulated client environments
• Install, configure, patch, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers and services
• Deliver Level 1 and Level 2 support for hardware, software, network, and system issues
• Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and user access management
• Monitor and maintain servers, storage, and core infrastructure to ensure uptime and stability
• Perform backup operations, restore testing, and data protection activities
• Support network fundamentals including switching, routing, firewalls, VPN, and Wi-Fi
• Coordinate with internal IT teams on incidents, escalations, and planned or unplanned outages
• Maintain accurate documentation including SOPs, incident logs, configurations, and daily reports
• Apply IT security practices, access controls, and compliance with organizational policies
• Use basic scripting for automation and routine operational tasks
• Support infrastructure and IT-related projects through planning, implementation, and coordination
• Provide professional technical support to department staff and VIP users

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
• Four to six years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure support or systems administration
• Strong experience supporting Windows and Linux environments
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and enterprise IT infrastructure
• Experience supporting critical internal systems with high availability requirements
• Strong documentation, communication, and coordination skills
• Knowledge of IT security practices and access management
• Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
• Programming and coding knowledge is an advantage
• Project management capability to plan and implement IT initiatives

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience working in highly regulated environments
• Familiarity with UAE IT standards, security guidelines, and compliance frameworks
• Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, or PRTG
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, MCSA or MCSE, ITIL, Network Plus, or Security Plus
• Experience coordinating with vendors and external service providers
• Ability to work in shift-based or high-availability environments
