POS terminals, kiosks, receipt printers, barcode scanners, cash drawers, and related peripherals

Troubleshoot hardware faults, connectivity issues, and basic POS software-related problems.
Provide onsite and remote technical support to retail outlets and business users.
Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure smooth store operations.
Support store openings, hardware rollouts, upgrades, and replacements.
Coordinate with vendors, OEMs, and service providers for hardware repairs and warranty claims.
Maintain inventory records, asset tagging, and documentation for IT hardware.
Ensure POS systems and peripherals comply with company IT standards and security policies.
Respond to support tickets and resolve incidents within defined SLAs.
Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level support or software vendors when required.
Provide basic user training and guidance on proper hardware usage.
Required Skills & Competencies
Strong hands-on experience with
POS hardware and retail peripherals
.
Knowledge of
Windows-based POS systems
, basic networking, and cabling.
Experience troubleshooting printers (receipt, label, laser), scanners, and kiosks.
Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with minimal downtime.
Good communication, customer-handling, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to travel between store locations if required.
Qualifications
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
1-3 years of experience in
retail IT support or POS hardware support
.
Certifications such as
CompTIA A+, Hardware & Networking, or POS-specific training
are an advantage.
