IT Auditor - Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Qualification:
Bachelor's degree in
Information Technology
,Computer Science
,Cybersecurity
, or anyrelated IT field
.Professional Certification:
IRCA Approved ISO 27001:2013/2022 Lead Auditor Certificate
(Mandatory for third-party audit roles)*Additional certifications are a plus: CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) ISO 20000, ISO 22301, or ISO 31000 CEH, CISSP, or equivalent security certifications
Audit Experience:
1-2 years
of experience conductingthird-party ISO 27001 audits
Hands-on experience withISMS implementation, risk assessment
, andcompliance auditing
Familiarity withdata protection laws, cybersecurity frameworks
, andinternal controls
Industry Experience:
Minimum 5 years
of work experience in theIT or cybersecurity industry
Roles can include IT security analyst, system administrator, network engineer, or similarSkills Required:
Strong understanding of
ISO 27001 controls and Annex A requirements
