What Does a Senior IT Auditor Do?
As a Senior in IT Audit, you'll perform risk-focused IT control assessments, test automated systems and data reports, and support the delivery of end-to-end audit engagements. You'll work closely with financial audit teams, IT specialists, and client stakeholders to ensure control effectiveness and compliance with audit standards.
What Are the Key Responsibilities?
- Participate in audit planning and business process reviews to determine IT audit scope
- Execute audit procedures covering IT general controls, application controls, interface controls, and system-generated reports
- Communicate audit plans, findings, and recommendations to clients and internal managers
- Prepare IT risk assessments and contribute to reporting processes
- Ensure engagement quality and adherence to firm standards and regulatory frameworks
- Manage multiple IT audit assignments simultaneously across various industries
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and team members
- Perform control testing within applications, databases, and operating systems
- Identify risk mitigation opportunities and validate compensating controls
What Skills Are Needed for a Senior IT Auditor in Dubai?
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or Business IT
- CISA certification is a plus
Experience:
- At least 6 years of IT audit experience, preferably in financial services or telecom
- Experience conducting IT control testing and supporting financial audits
- Familiarity with general and application control frameworks
Skills:
- Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of data analytics tools is beneficial
- Strong analytical, documentation, and client-facing communication skills
- Ability to manage concurrent projects and meet tight deadlines
- Understanding of audit methodologies, IT risks, and industry-specific processes
- Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus
