Job Description
- This role will manage the company's day-to-day IT operations, ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of IT software, specifically trading platforms (i.e. ETRM/CTRM), ERP systems, compliance tools, and analytics platform * Reporting into Head of IT and COE.
- Responsible for oversight and maintenance of IT software applications.
- Oversee the lifecycle of enterprise applications, including trading platforms (e.g., ETRM/CTRM), ERP systems, compliance tools, and analytics platform.
- Work closely with trading desks to optimize application functionality and user experience.
- Manage application performance, availability, and security to minimize downtime and operational risk.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all system and application logs.
- Oversee the receiving and logging support incidents and requests from end users - troubleshooting and resolving issues in collaboration with key system vendors.
- Process the onboarding and offboarding of new and departing employees, including managing access to all trading applications.
- Coordinate the day-to-day interactions with key IT vendors, service providers and consultants, monitoring vendor performance and ensuring compliance with contract terms.
- Monitor for potential cybersecurity threats and assist in the response to security incidents.
- Assist the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the availability of IT systems in the event of a disruption.
- Regularly test and update disaster recovery plans to ensure their effectiveness.
- Enforce policies to control risks associated with end-user computing (EUC) applications (cataloguing, securing, controlling access to critical applications).
- Monitor IT expenditures and identify opportunities for cost savings and provide regular updates on performance against IT budgets to management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of IT processes
- Collaborate with the business on ad hoc projects and initiatives.
- Ability to work in a fast moving, early stage trading organisation, supporting growth whilst ensuring control and risk management objectives are met.
- In-depth knowledge of ETRM and ERP systems and development tools
- Experience with database management.
- Familiar with document management systems, reporting suites (e.g. Crystal Reports), and APIs
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting and support across software development lifecycle phases
- Strong communication skills, collaborative and inclusive
- Project management experience
- Experience working with vendors, providers and other internal business teams
- Previous experience working within a Commodities trading environment is advantageous.
- Preferably Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering or related IT qualifications
