Reference #992 Our client is a leading Qatari Holding Group with diversified global business interests within the Hospitality, Real Estate, Industrial, Investment Management and Financial Services sectors. This Group is currently undergoing major business transformation change introduced to support corporate governance objectives, business growth and to bring the group to a world standard. Our client now seeks to recruit an Investment Manager - Private Equity to:
  • Deliver high-quality financial analysis, valuation reports and advice to senior management on illiquid, long-term investments comprising real estate, hospitality, private equity and venture capital.
  • Update management on developments in local and global markets relative to the Group\xe2\x80\x99s private equity investments.
  • Monitor private equity investments and business development efforts for the investment team.
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and managing 1 direct report, this role is responsible for the following:
  • Evaluate proposals for investment opportunities (external) and capital expenditure (internal) and research different markets and opportunities for recommendation to the CIO.
  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research to support investment selection focussing on financial, economic and market viewpoints.
  • Organize and conduct due diligence for various investment opportunities and/or acquisitions and obtain necessary internal approvals.
  • Identify business drivers and their impact on the Group\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio.
  • Participate in the structuring, negotiation, closing and monitoring of long-term financing facilities.
  • Manage all activities related to long-term funding and financial closure, up to disbursement.
  • Lead the deal-restructuring process for the organization.
  • Ensure appropriate and adequate documentation for financing facilities, investments, purchases, takeovers, governance structures and shareholder agreements.
  • Oversee the valuation of potential investments through various models and manage the due diligence process of each potential investment.
  • Contribute to the translation of accounting data into meaningful management reports.
  • Develop financial models to analyse sales, cashflow projections and business cycles.
  • Prepare and monitor performance models and reports monthly.
  • Analyse variances from budget periodically and report thereof.
  • Develop and recommend financial strategic planning, periodic reports, budgets and forecast plans.
  • Prepare and recommend cost, procedure and trend analyses to management.
  • Deliver timely and accurate market research including the research and exploration of investment opportunities and preparation of studies and presentations.
  • Review and submit periodic reports to the Chief Investment Officer, the Chief Executive Officer, the Board of Directors and Board Committees.
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, vendors, subsidiary & related companies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Analyse internal operations, identify areas of process enhancement, monitor performance and establish corrective measures, generate reports and assess and implement new technologies.
  • Supervise direct reports in daily tasks and guide performance including guiding the CIO on hiring and promotions within the department.
The attributes we seek for this role comprise:
  • Bachelor in Business, Finance, Economics or related discipline is required with a post graduate qualification in Masters level being highly desirable. Candidates with a CFA Level II or III certification is a plus.
  • Candidates must possess a minimum of 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience in investment banking, M&A, Transactions, Private Equity Funds, Venture Capital or investment related field. Experience in Real Estate and Hospitality is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential would MS Visio being a plus.
  • Candidates must have advanced critical thinking skills with proficient knowledge in stock market and equity market outlooks as well as investment return forecasts.
  • Candidates must possess superior interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.
  • Must possess the capacity to deal with conflicting priorities and deliver high quality work on schedule and have the ability to work successfully in multicultural teams and across boundaries.
  • Fluency in English with Arabic language abilities being highly regarded.
