The Senior Logistics Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of logistical processes within an organization. This position requires a deep understanding of international trade regulations, customs documentation, and shipping methods. The Logistics Specialist is also responsible for coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customers to ensure timely delivery of goods and compliance with international regulations. SAP Operations:
Create, review, and manage
Goods Receipt Notes (GRN)
within SAP.
Maintain accurate logistics data and shipment statuses in SAP.
Shipment Planning:
Analyze and organize
loading lists
to maximize container space utilization for sea shipments.
Plan container consolidations efficiently based on product size, weight, shipping schedules and suppliers' strategic locations.
Freight Coordination:
Coordinate with
freight forwarders
for both
air freight
and
sea freight
operations.
Review and negotiate freight rates; identify the
most cost-effective
and reliable service providers.
Monitor freight bookings, shipment tracking, and timely dispatch.
Cost Analysis:
Analyze and compare
freight forwarding costs
and recommend the best options based on service quality and price, for both local and international shipments.
Shipping Documentation and Packaging:
Coordinate the preparation and review of all
shipping documents
, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
Oversee the creation and verification of
labels and shipping marks
related to furniture shipment packaging.
Ensure correct export documentation and packing standards are adhered to.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
Ensure all shipments comply with customs regulations, international trade laws, and company quality standards.
Support audits and internal checks related to logistics and shipping.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, the Logistics Specialist should possess the following qualifications and skills:
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in international logistics.
Strong understanding of international trade regulations.
Proficiency in shipping documentation and customs clearance processes.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Proactive and adaptable.
Experience with ERP systems and shipping software.
Knowledge of global logistics networks and carriers.
