Overview - Program, Cost, Consultancy Department

AECOM\xe2\x80\x99s PCC team provides multi-disciplinary advisory services for project sponsors, consortia \\ developers and lenders that have a vested interest in the successful outcome of developing built asset and infrastructure projects. We help our clients navigate the risks and complexities of transactions across various sectors. We advise clients across the whole investment life cycle from evaluating investment opportunities to detailed due diligence and monitoring during the construction phase of projects.

As an Intern - Project Surveyor, you will be involved in all commercial activities during the pre and post contract phases of a construction project. This will cover several different types of packages from fit-outs to new builds, giving you a wide range of knowledge & experience. You will complete a range of tasks within the team, including: Measurement, Volume 1 & 3 Production, Contracts & Procurement, Cost Forecasting, Variation Management, Market Testing, Cost Planning, Payment Administration & Liaising with clients.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Undertakes responsibilities under the supervision of a more senior Project Surveyor
• Completes the measurement of quantities for input into cost plans, cost estimates and bills of quantities
• Assists with the preparation of tender documentation
• Assists with viability studies and cost estimates
• Assists with implementing, maintaining and monitoring cost control procedures throughout the duration of a project
• Assists with evaluating variations, additions and omissions, etc, and incorporating these into monthly cost reports
• Assists with preparing, pricing and negotiating change orders with clients and contractors
• Market tests rates and analyses tender returns for input into rates databases and estimates

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Quantity Surveying from an accredited University
• Must have graduated within the last 12 months or graduating no later than June 2023
• Successful applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above
• If you hold a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree, you must have started it within 12 months of completing the Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in order to have continuous education
• Any software experience including MS Office package, AutoCAD, GIS or any relevant computer Autocad, CostX and BIM experience would be an advantage

The Intern Program will run from 26 June - 29 Sept 2023 and is your opportunity to land a permanent position with AECOM. If your performance has been successful, based on a mid-program review, you will be offered a full-time role as a young professional in your field as part of our highly competitive Graduate Program starting in November 2023.
