Whether you\xe2\x80\x99ve recently finished your college education and trying to find that \xe2\x80\x9cperfect fit\xe2\x80\x9d or about to complete your university degree and want to get a taste of the real world, AECOM has a wide variety of Internship opportunities available.

Responsibilities & Duties

The Intern \xe2\x80\x93 Mechanical Engineer role will join the Utilities team and have the opportunity to work on projects involving design of water pump stations, water and waste water treatment plants and the process mechanical design such as district cooling plants etc.

• Develops designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project models as per specific discipline requirement. Works on drawings under the supervision of an experienced Engineer.
• Assists with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines.
• Under Supervision, performs work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule.
• When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering problems.
• Coordinates with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process.
• Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.
• Checks and ensures the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions.
• Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.
• Contributes by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Civil Engineering with exposure to one or more of the following subjects from an accredited University
• - Fluid Mechanics
• - Hydraulics
• - Water Supply and Sewerage
• - Water/Waste Water treatment
• - Pumping Stations
• - Process Mechanical design

• Must have graduated within the last 12 months or graduating no later than June 2023
• Successful applicants must have a minimum 3.4 GPA or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above
• Candidates must be currently based in the UAE
• If you hold a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree, you must have started it within 12 months of completing the Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in order to have continuous education

The Intern Program will run from 26 June - 29 Sept 2023 and is your opportunity to land a permanent position with AECOM. If your performance has been successful, based on a mid-program review, you will be offered a full-time role as a young professional in your field as part of our highly competitive Graduate Program starting in November 2023.
