Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Develop interior design concepts specifically for joinery / wooden furniture / custom millwork (e.g., cabinetry, wall paneling, doors, built-ins). Produce detailed technical drawings, shop drawings, and as-built drawings for joinery pieces. (Similar to interior / joinery design roles seen in UAE fit-out companies) Prepare mood boards, finish boards, and material specifications (wood types, hardware, veneers). Use design software to model joinery pieces in 3D, render visualizations, and present design proposals. Coordinate with the production / workshop team to ensure the designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and within tolerance. Conduct site visits (if needed) to take measurements, verify conditions, and ensure design feasibility during installation. Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, and site supervisors to ensure design intent is maintained during manufacturing and installation. Maintain design documentation (drawings, specifications, revisions) and ensure updates are communicated to relevant stakeholders. Stay updated with joinery techniques, hardware trends, and sustainable material options. Optionally, support quality control by reviewing finished joinery items against design intent.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field. (Standard requirement for design roles). Proven experience (preferably) in interior design with a focus on joinery, fit-out or furniture manufacturing. (Based on similar job ads in the UAE.) Proficiency in design software: AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or equivalent.

Knowledge of Mosaic software

is a

big plus / preferred

. Strong ability to produce technical drawings, shop drawings, and detailed design documentation. Good understanding of joinery materials (wood, MDF, veneer, hardware) and fabrication processes. Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple teams (manufacturing, site, procurement). Ability to manage tasks independently, given the part-time nature of the role. Strong attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
