Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled dual-trade E&I Technician with expertise in maintaining, calibrating, and troubleshooting industrial instrumentation and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with process control instruments, safety systems, and electrical equipment in regulated environments. You will ensure the reliability and accuracy of measurement and control systems critical to plant safety, efficiency, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Instrumentation Maintenance & Calibration
Calibrate and maintain field instruments:
Pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters
Control valves, positioners, actuators, and solenoid valves
Analytical instruments (pH, conductivity, gas detectors)
Perform loop checks, instrument verifications, and functional tests
Troubleshoot 4-20mA loops, HART, Foundation Fieldbus, and Profibus networks
2. Electrical & Control Systems Support
Maintain and troubleshoot:
Motor control circuits, starters, and VFDs
PLC I/O modules, marshalling cabinets, and junction boxes
Intrinsic safety (IS) barriers and isolators
Support DCS/PLC system maintenance and minor modifications
Install and terminate instrument cabling and tray systems
3. Safety & Critical Systems
Maintain safety instrumented systems (SIS) and fire & gas detectors
Test and inspect emergency shutdown (ESD) systems and critical alarms
Work in hazardous areas following ATEX/IECEx standards and procedures
4. Documentation & Compliance
Update calibration records, loop diagrams, and instrument datasheets
Complete work orders in CMMS (SAP, Maximo) with accurate historical data
Adhere to management of change (MOC) procedures for instrument modifications
Comply with quality standards (ISO 9001) and safety procedures (PTW, LOTO)
Qualifications & Requirements
Mandatory:
Diploma in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering
3+ years experience
maintaining instruments in process industry
Experience with:
Pressure/flow/temperature/level measurement
Control valve maintenance and stroking
PLC/DCS interface troubleshooting
Ability to interpret:
P&IDs, loop diagrams, and electrical schematics
Instrument datasheets and specifications
Proficiency with:
Calibrators (pressure, temperature, mA simulators)
HART/Fieldbus communicators
Multimeters and process meters
Preferred:
ISA CCST Certification
(Level I or II)
COMPEX Certification
for hazardous areas
Experience with:
Siemens, Rockwell, or Yokogawa control systems
Safety instrumented systems (SIL-rated equipment)
Vibration monitoring and machinery protection systems
Oil & gas, petrochemical, or power plant experience
Offshore certification
(BOSIET/HUET) if required
