Job Description
The Instrument Technician is responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems used in energy production and distribution facilities. This includes working with devices that monitor and control pressure, flow, temperature, and level systems to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, calibrate, inspect, and maintain various types of instrumentation and control equipment (e.g., transmitters, sensors, PLCs, DCS, analyzers). Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on instrumentation systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in field instrumentation and control systems. Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, loop diagrams, and manufacturer manuals. Assist in loop checking, commissioning, and testing of new instrumentation during plant modifications or upgrades. Ensure that all instrumentation equipment complies with applicable safety and industry standards. Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Coordinate with other departments such as electrical, mechanical, and operations to ensure smooth plant operations.
