Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems used in industrial facilities such as oil & gas plants, refineries, and manufacturing sites in Qatar. Ensures all instruments perform accurately and reliably to maintain safe and efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Install, test, calibrate, and maintain a variety of process instruments, including pressure, temperature, level, and flow transmitters. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of field instrumentation and control systems. Troubleshoot instrumentation faults and ensure quick resolution to minimize downtime. Assist in commissioning and loop checking of control systems during project start-up or shutdown activities. Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, and wiring schematics. Carry out calibration and testing using standard test equipment and maintain calibration certificates. Ensure all work complies with QCS (Qatar Construction Specifications), company policies, and safety standards. Coordinate with electrical and mechanical teams for integrated maintenance activities. Maintain accurate maintenance logs and daily activity reports. Support PLC/DCS operations as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education:

Diploma / ITI Certificate in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in instrumentation work (preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial sectors in Qatar or GCC).

Certifications:

Calibration and safety certification (preferred) Basic PLC / DCS system knowledge PTW (Permit to Work) and H2S awareness certification (preferred)

Skills and Competencies:

Strong understanding of process instrumentation and control systems. Ability to calibrate and service transmitters, sensors, control valves, and analyzers.

Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (HART, Modbus, Foundation Fieldbus).

Knowledge of hazardous area instrumentation and Ex-rated equipment. Good troubleshooting, fault-finding, and analytical skills. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Work Environment:

Industrial, construction, or plant-based environment (onshore/offshore as applicable). May require shift work, standby, or emergency call-outs. Must strictly follow company and client HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies.
